The Broadmoor community comes together for a project to dress up the neighborhood. Watch a collection of old, worn out tires become an instrument of beautification. This recycle and repurpose DIY project was hosted by IDIYA and was sponsored by Propeller, Green Coast Enterprises and Urban Roots.

Thanks to all who can out and got their hands dirty!

The South Broad Blood Drive in the Broadmoor community held on May 4, 2015 was a great success! The Blood Center bus was at full capacity the entire time due the commitment of our donors who came out and gave the gift of life. We exceeded our goal!  The event was organized by the surrounding businesses in response to the tragic shooting on the Corner of South Broad and Washington Ave on April 13th, 2015. Thankfully, all the victims are expected to make a full recovery.  Participating hosts and sponsors were IDIYA, Green Coast Enterprises, Green Coast Realty, GCE GreenPropeller,  Cajun Seafood and South Broad Community Health – who began treating the victims in the street while the ambulance was in route. We are grateful to have members of our community that don’t hesitate to run to the aid of others in a time of desperate need.  IDIYA hosted the event with owner Domenic Giunta working the grill in order to provide food for the participating donors.  “It was great to see the community come together and show their support and love” said Domenic Giunta of IDIYA. Will Bradshaw of Green Coast Enterprises stated that the South Broad Business Community is pressing forward, striving to improve the communities that we call home. “We are more committed to that call as ever, and we look forward to working with each of you to make this little corner of our city a safe, thriving place filled with opportunity.”

IDIYA would like to personally thank Greta Garner of Green Coast Realty for her dedication and efforts to make this a successful blood drive. Special thanks to Meghan Keating and the team at South Broad Community Health for sponsoring and participating the day of the event. Thanks to Cajun Seafood and all the businesses who donated food and supplies. And more thanks are due to the volunteers from Propeller  who helped work the event.

Most of all, we want to thank all of the donors who took the time to come and donate blood in order to save lives!  THANK YOU for your selfless act of kindness and showing concern and compassion for others. We couldn’t have done this without you!
